About our staffAll teachers at Portside are well trained and have many years experience. The teachers are First Aid and CPR trained with criminal background checks as required by California state law.Melinda HernandezMelinda Hernandez is Montessori Certified and has worked in Montessori schools for twelve years. She currently has an AA in Early Childhood Development and has upgraded her permit to a Site Supervisor. Melinda is working towards her BA in the same course of study. Her hobbies include, snowboarding, beautifying her home and spending time with her husband and her two children.Maureen SmithMaureen Smith is Montessori certified and has worked with children for 7 years, 3 of which were under the Montessori method. She currently has an AA in Early Childhood Education and has upgraded her per permit to a Master Teacher. Maureen's hobbies include, snowboarding, scrap booking, and spending time with her husband and child.Beverly EnosBeverly Enos has been working for Portside Montessori for a shot time and enjoys working with her coworkers and children.She has been working with children from 9 months to 5 years for over five years. Within those five years Beverly received her AA in Early Childhood Development along with a Teacher Permit. Beverly is happily married and hopes to have children in the future.Diane YoungDiane young is the oldest of six kids and aspires to be a special education teacher. Diane graduated from the University of California, Davis with a bachelors of science in Human Development. She is currently attending CSU Sacramento for a dual credential in multiple subjects and special education.She has been working with students since 2004 and with Portside since August 2008.Sara WilliamsSara Williams is Montessori certified and has worked with children for 5 years, 1 of which under the Montessori method. She currently has her BA in Childhood Development and has upgraded her permit to Site Supervisor. Sara's hobbies include gymnastics, wake boarding, water skiing, camping, running and scrap booking.Erin MizutamiErin Mizutami is in her third year attending Sacramento City College. She is currently in the process of obtaining an AA in Child Development. She will then follow that by seeking a BA in child development. Erin is the youngest and the only girl of 4 kids. She enjoys reading and is fond of almost any type of music. Erin enjoys spending time with her friends, family and the people she loves.Bradly SmithBradley Smith, is a preschool head teacher, Montessori certified. He’s been working with children since 2001. He’s been with Portside Montessori since 2008. He is currently working on getting his B.A in child development. He enjoys writing, painting, playing sports, relaxing with his wife, two kids, and their two dogs, and kitten. |
